Nature and Grace in the Work of Terrence Malick

Nature and Grace in the Work of Terrence Malick

The American filmmaker Terrence Malick (known for A Thin Red Line, Tree of Life and Knight of Cups) is one of cinema’s most mysterious figures. Notably camera shy and often called a recluse, Malick has released only seven films since his 1973 debut – five of them after a twenty-year hiatus. Philip Johnston (L’Abri Fellowship Hampshire) traces how Malick’s canon reveals a compelling ideological trajectory from nihilism to a more Christian sensibility.
