James Joyce’s 1922 novel, Ulysses has been described as one of the most important works of modernist literature. It is an experimental prose, full of puns, parodies, allusions, and rich characterisations. John Valentine is undertaking a PhD looking at how St John’s Gospel and James Joyce use language to bring out meaning in their texts.
